Dear Members of the Defence Subgroup,
DG DEFIS is conducting a study on the access to equity financing for European SMEs and midcaps in the defence sector. The study will:
- Assess companies’ funding needs and challenges to access financing;
- Assess drivers and barriers to invest in the defence sector;
- Map the European ecosystem of investors active in the defence sector;
- Quantify the funding gaps for European SMEs and Midcaps in the defence sector in the EU.
In this context, yesterday a survey was launched to receive feedback from companies on their funding needs and the specific challenges they face to access financing.
- If you are a company, we invite you to participate!
- If you are an industry association, we invite you to share this information with your members!
The contribution of a large number of companies is important to receive a representative sample of data, allowing to adequately assess the funding gap.
These data will provide valuable insights and support for the development of relevant policy measures aiming to improve access to finance for the defence sector within the EU.
The survey can be completed HERE until 16nd June 2023 midnight.
