I want to thank you for your ongoing cooperation with DG DEFIS on defence industrial matters. You may be aware that the European Year of Skills (EYS) commenced on 9th May and will see the implementation of many key initiatives to ensure that we continue to develop a workforce with the skills that are in demand, contributes to sustainable growth, leads to more innovation and improves companies’ competitiveness. In that context, I wish to invite you to a virtual, working-level, meeting on Defence Skills to take place on 9th of June between 10.00 and 12.00 between DG DEFIS and the EU NDIAs. As you are well aware, having the right people with the skills will be critical to ensure that we continue to grow and strengthen our EDITB.
DG DEFIS engages directly with industry experts on a very regular basis on skills and on other key policy matters. Your engagement and support, at NDIA level is also extremely important as we continue to develop and implement polices to strengthen the European Defence Industrial and Technological Base (EDITB). This meeting will provide you with the opportunity to share best practices and experiences of working with education and labour market policies on a national level.
